Remember to properly format your References

Remember to put your References in alphabetical order, use hanging indentations, and double space them

Books in Print and Online

Author Last Name, First Initial.Middle Initial. (date of publication). Title of the book. Publishing Company.

 

Example:

Dick, P. K. (1988). The man in the high castle. The Easton Press.

Parenthetical citation: (Dick, 1988)

Narrative citation: Dick (1988)

First Author's Last Name, First Initial., & Second Author's Last Name, First Initial. (date of publication). Title of the book. Publishing Company.

 

Example:

Cytryn, L., & McKnew, D. (1996). Growing up sad: Childhood depression and its treatment. W.W. Norton & Company.

Parenthetical citation: (Cytryn & McKnew, 1996)

Narrative citation: Cytryn and McKnew (1996)

 

First Author's Last Name, First Initial., Second Author's Last Name, First Initial., & Third Author's Last Name, First Initial. (date of publication). Title of the                             book. Publishing Company.

 

Example:

​Simon, E. J., Dickey, J. L., & Reece, J. B. (2013). Campbell essential biology (5th ed.). Pearson.

Parenthetical citation: (Simon et al., 2013)

Narrative citation: Simon et al. (2013)

If the book has three or more authors use et al. meaning there are more authors but not listed in the in-text citation.

If you have more authors just keep listing them and separate the last and second to last with &

First Author's Last Name, First Initial., Second Author's Last Name, First Initial., Third Author's Last Name, First Initial.,  & Fourth Author's Last Name, First Initial. (date of publication). Title of the book. Publishing Company.

 

Example:

McMurry, J., Ballantine, D. S., Hoeger, C. A., & Peterson, V. E. (2013). Fundamentals of general, organic, and biological chemistry (7th ed.). Pearson.

Parenthetical citation: (McMurry et al., 2013) 

Narrative citation: McMurry et al. (2013)

Treat a book with a doi just as you would a regular print book, simply add the https://doi.org/...

 

Example:

Brown, L. S. (2018) Feminist therapy (2nd ed.). American Psychological Association. https://doi.org/10.1037/000092-000

Parenthetical citation: (Brown, 2018)

Narrative citation: Brown (2018)
